Since our last update, we have been able to arrange hundreds of face-to-face appointment slots for clients whose examinations were delayed as a result of the first national lockdown.
Following the Government announcement of a second national lockdown commencing 5th November, in conjunction with MedCo’s announcement that face-to-face appointments should not take place during this period, we have taken the step of cancelling all MedCo face-to-face appointment slots which are due to take place within the coming week.
We continue to closely monitor Government and MedCo guidance in respect of the ban on face-to-face appointments during November.
The safety and wellbeing of your clients, their loved ones and of our medical experts and their families is of the utmost importance during the pandemic.
However, we do not wish to cause unnecessary delay and inconvenience by cancelling all face-to-face appointments until it is absolutely necessary to do so.
We will therefore cancel appointments only when it is clear that they will not be allowed to take place. We will of course keep you and your clients fully informed.
Where your instructions permit, these appointments will be rebooked as virtual appointments. Where they do not, we will contact you in order to discuss alternative arrangements.
In respect of any non-Medco instructions, at the time of this communication we remain able to provide face-to-face appointments with national coverage, provided your client is happy to attend.
This situation may change in the event that experts are required to undertake NHS work. We will keep you and your clients fully informed.
Any face-to-face examination which takes place during the pandemic will be conducted in line with Government guidance and social distancing requirements.
We have the ability to switch between virtual and face-to-face examinations at short notice, therefore rest assured that as soon as the guidance permits, On Medical will be in a position to offer both MedCo and non-MedCo face-to-face appointments with national coverage.
