Carbon Neutral Plus Status Confirmed Once Again

On Medical 24/7 is delighted to confirm its status as a Carbon Neutral Plus organisation for another 12 months.

As part of an ongoing assessment program, the company has been given the seal of approval by Carbon Footprint Ltd after offsetting their 116.6 tonnes and emissions generated throughout 2021.

On Medical 24/7, dedicated to greener practices, has been contributing to carbon offsetting projects, including:

  • Pacajai REDD+ Project in Brazil – This project focuses on preventing unplanned deforestation in the Amazon, with the world’s largest rainforest a vital component in global carbon dioxide consumption
  • Promoting improved cooking practices in Nigeria – The aim of this program is to provide highly efficient Toyola Cookstoves to the poorer demographics in Nigeria, who use solid fuel cookstoves and open fires to cook with. These practices lead to serious indoor air pollution and health-related issues
  • Energising India using solar energy – A scheme seeking to implement five grid-connected renewable solar energy power plants in India to reduce emissions by around 850,000 tonnes.

Upon hearing the news, Head of Commercial, Sarah Maddison, was delighted to achieve the green accreditation for another year.

She said: “We take our responsibilities in relation to combatting climate change incredibly seriously and know we all have a part to play.

“By altering our practices and supporting carbon offsetting projects around the world, we have been able to reach a carbon neutral plus status that we are proud to maintain.

“On Medical 24/7 will continue to do more to reduce its carbon footprint and help in any way it can to turn the tide on climate change.”

As part of a fledgling project, On Medical 24/7 has planted 59 trees in the UK to date, taking it from carbon neutral to carbon neutral plus status. It is actively seeking to grow that total.
