On Medical 24/7 are not just talking the talk when it comes to being carbon neutral; they’re taking it to the next level.
The medical agency has become the first in their industry to achieve the Carbon Neutral Plus standard, as they seek to reinforce their commitment to being a ‘green’ company.
Following an audit of their carbon emissions – which takes into account all energy consumption, any business miles travelled, a survey of all staff regarding their type and length of commute, any air con refrigeration top-ups, and any air travel for business purposes – On Medical has pledged to support four carbon offsetting projects both at home and abroad:
- For each tree planted in both the UK and Kenya, an additional tonne of carbon is also offset through the Brazilian Amazon Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD) project to guarantee the emission reductions
“There are many fantastic reasons to become a Carbon Neutral Plus organisation, including helping our region by improving air quality and supporting countries in need with the Kenya reforestation scheme and reduction of deforestation in the Amazon. We are also very proud to support projects that focus on empowering women and gender equality across Kenya and North Darfur.
“We feel it is essential for companies to play their part in fighting climate change and providing a safer world for future generations.
“The team at On Medical want to do their bit, and we’re delighted to put that desire into positive action.”
On Medical are also pledging to lower their carbon footprint through energy-saving measures which will be rolled out soon.
